Disappointing
A film that started so brightly but ended up a disapointment as it lacked the excitment that a good space horror would!!! Anyone remember Alien!

Sci-fi slop
It starts off okay, there's a sense of mystery over what has happened but actually satisfying that interest takes second place to running around the ship. There are two specific problems. The first is the very sloppy camera work and direction. The second is there is no characterisation so you really couldn't care less what happens to people. When the story reaches the conclusion you'll feel that it was in fact an interesting story but it had been told so badly you feel short changed. There are obvious references to Alien and mostly Event Horizon. The blame though rests with the scriptwriters and the director for making such a bad job of the material he did have.

Pleasantly Surprised
Like other reviews on here, I went in with fairly middling expectations having read the mixed reviews and comments about other films this is derivitive of. Yes, it is atmospherically and stylistically similar to both Alien & Event Horizon (with a bit of The Descent thrown in for good measure), but manages to be its own film. Overall a decent bit of well made SF based horror with some nice twists well hidden in the plot so as not to be yawningly obvious. Not a classic like Alien, but at least as good as Event Horizon, and well worth a watch if you like this sort of thing.

Wake up call!
Pandorum is good quality Sci-fi Space survival horror movie running time at 1hour 48 mins. Set aboard a ship that is/was Earths best last hope two members of the crew wake up from deep hyper-space sleep to find themselves on a seemingly abandoned ship. Confused and suffering from post sleep amnesia they are unsure why or how they are there? or what mission they were on! It doesn't take long before they realise they are not alone...

The storyline, although not totally original, is still pretty good. The plot twist and turns, and although at times appears confused, its that uncertain element that lets this film shine over lesser offerings. There is a fairly high level of violence with the horror but its not a "slasher" and combines the violent scenes with some psychological scares.

The Blu-Ray quality is excellent, with crisp and clear images which is as it should be on a 2009 release film. The sound quality is atmospheric and presented in surround HD DTS. Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster take the 2 lead roles and turn in good performances. The Extras are fairly standard fair with making of still deleted scenes and commentaries.

Alround well worth a watch and seems to be selling at a not a bad price either.

great sci fi
if you like the more thoughful sci fi horror, not the usual slasher type. this is for you. this made me think way after the film had ended, to be stuck in space for centuries deal with the effects of this and survive the results of long term space travel and human [sub]evolution. great original film
