Review

Pure. Popcorn. Entertainment. That's an exact classification of director Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The action is nonstop, with battles and explosions from start to finish. The camera (without any subtlety) exploits Megan Fox's hotness to the max. As if she weren't enough, a new sex kitten (Isabel Lucas) is thrown into the equation. Shia LaBeouf is as charismatic as ever, and fills the starring role with ease. And then there's the humour. Sam's parents (Kevin Dunn and Julie White) provided some semi-raunchy laugh-out-loud moments in the first movie, but now they take it to the next level. Sometimes it seems like they are trying a little too hard, but it is still hilarious.

As far as the “plot” goes, the writers didn't waste much time--it's really just a context for the giant-robot death matches and dramatic slow-mo sequences. The movie kicks off two years later where the Autobots have formed an alliance with the U.S. government, creating an elite team led by Major Lennox (Josh Duhamel), in an effort to snuff out any remaining Decepticons that show up. The bad guys keep coming, and it turns out that a much more menacing force than Megatron is out there--and it is looking for something on Earth that is tied to the very origin of the Transformers race. Fans of the franchise will be delighted by the addition of many new robot characters (there are well over 40 in the sequel, versus only 13 in the first). The second Transformers has shaped up to be one of the worst reviewed and most successful movies of all time. This strange pairing is really just an indication that this movie has one purpose: to entertain. The creators didn't want to waste time bogging down the action and drama with substance--which was arguably a good decision. --Jordan Thompson

There should be a law against sequels like this
I liked the first transformers film. A lot. Right from when Bumblebee transformed from a sports car into his robot self. It built up the tension (for want of a better word) and the effects got more and more impressive as the film went on. And the lead character (can't remember the name as usual) was alright, a young boy, interested in a pretty girl, has his life turned upside down.

This is terrible. It's like a non-stop series of explosions and special effects. All the lead character and Megan Fox (couldn't forget her name despite the dodgy acting) do is run around ALL THE TIME. They are speaking so fast, you can't even catch what they are saying, which is probably a good thing. Even worse, are the two little robots talking street trash, and the adolescent boy humour (a lot of it). Even if you loved the first film, you will struggle to like this. Pure, utter, garbage.

Dire!
How did they get the agreement to fund a third film based on this!? Just awful... no good lead bless poor Shia, Miss Fox as irritating as ever and a really pointless 'roommate' character who tagged along because....!? John Tuturro was wasted in it too. Original Autobots were barely in it and the new ones were as annoying as Jar Jar Binks! Too long with a weak main plot line! Awful ending that could have been tied up in 10 minutes really not half hour and totally without the hurrendously 'OTT' death scene too. Only thing that kept me watching was the transforming sound (love that sound!)and other 'bots' related sounds plus sheer morbid curiosity to see how dire it could get, and boy did it get dire...! Just abysmal!

after watching this movie I wish I was a transformer.
I would transform myself into somebody that had not watched this movie.

Im not sure what they were thinking !
I had to wait for a year before i could write this review so i could watch it various times to make sure i was thinking straight, and i was! Funny ? why ? Rapping robots ? why ? Dogs that hump robots legs ? Why !!! I cant tell you how bad some parts of the film are. It was made for everyone under the age of 12 ! But there also some fantastic action scenes and some not so good. The agent that climbs up the pyramid with falling rocks was a disaster ! but the forrest fight scene? A master class. I cant tell you how bad they got this film wrong for anyone over the age of 12.... Lets hope that they target the adult market in the next one ? Decepticons on a rampage in England, ripping humans from cars and splatting them around !! Lets have a adult version!

Popcorn!
After the first Transformers I expected a LOT!
This was a mistake :o(

They have added some nice new Transformers to this one, but the story is flat as hell...
All those childish, pervert jokes... unnecessary!

I don't like Megan Fox neither..
But why the hell do they exchange her for part 3???
Mikaela all of a sudden changed her face or what?!

Shia LaBoeuf is great!
If this was ten years ago, I'm pretty sure, he'd be my idol! ;o)

Transformers 2 is definitely DEMO material on Blu-Ray, when it comes to sound and image!

The CGI and action sequences are amazing so there is only one recommendation:
Invite some friends, drink a lot and make some popcorn. lol
